Renato Torres

Renato Torres (1913 – 1974) was born in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. He graduated from the School of Fine Arts of Oporto, and dedicated His life to painting and sculpture. He was a professor of the Technical Professional Education in various schools in Portugal, including the Portalegre School. Torres was one of the first painters to collaborate with Portalegre’s Tapestry, having produced innumerous cartons transposed to tapestry, since 1954.
